The Soul Well floats back down into Vangel’s cupped hands.

PANEL 4
A close up on Vangel as she looks at the stone in awe, the soft glow it is emitting is reflected in her eyes.

Friday Morning Livestream 10/10/25

In which I discuss:

•How to do lettering in Photoshop
•The importance of good lettering and page layout
•Maintaining/protecting the reader’s flor state
•Continuity vs. Page flow

•The importance of sammiches to the art making process.

Apologies to anyone who tried to tune in on Friday and got a black screen. Also for this much edited replay version. I believe the jist of what I was talking about is still there.

You need some good news!

Good news the first: Concrete Arcanum Living With Monsters physical proof has arrived! I’m going to be going over it with a fine toothed comb and make sure everything’s in order, but so far it looks absolutely fantastic! This may be the most beautiful book I’ve ever made.

And as if that weren’t enough, I also got a photo of the Concrete Arcanum pin from the manufacturer, and they are looking even more gorgeous than I was hoping!

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but I sprung for the two tone iridescent plating that’s both pink and green at the same time. I can’t wait to have these in hand!

If you happened to miss out on the Kickstarter, worry not! You can still snag these and a host of other items in the pre-order store.

JUST CLICK HERE

Good news the second: Eight bonus eComics have been unlocked in the Canon of Vangel #5 Kickstarter!

That’s eight supernaturally spectacular bonus comics on top of all of the rewards for pledging! The more backers we get, the more value you get. Don’t miss out! CLICK HERE and back The Canon of Vangel #5 on Kickstarter today!

BACK NOW!

Good news the third: There’s just so much good stuff on Kickstarter right now!

The Alchemist of Aurillia, Volume 1 by Melissa J. Massey

Nuriye spends her days doing more reading about magic than actually practicing it. When a witch named Yahti the World Eater returns to take her revenge on Nuriye’s home and the people she holds dear, it seems impossible that anyone can stop her. After all, the only human who ever defeated a witch was the legendary Alchemist of Aurillia! But that was thousands of years ago!

Nuriye is willing to take the chance that the old legend is true by seeking out the Alchemist’s legendary atelier, which is hopefully filled with witch-defeating secrets.

Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters: Origins 1-3 by Jessica Maison Judd

Shel, the supernatural teen version of Mary Shelley, her monster bestie, Frank, and the cute and cuddly Book of the Dead, Necro, are back to face off with mysterious, ancient, and formidable Watchers that have invaded the Primal Woods. This time, Shel and Frank meet Will for the first time, and he’s in big trouble.

White Ash Vol 1 – The Master Edition Hardcover by Charlie Stickney and Conor Hughes

Welcome to White Ash, a small smudge of a mining town in Western Pennsylvania, where the secrets are buried even deeper than the coal under the mountain. First launched on Kickstarter in 2017 by Charlie Stickney, Conor Hughes and Fin Cramb, White Ash is an ongoing, urban fantasy comic book series that’s one of the longest-running and most popular on the platform. If you’re a fan of SupernaturalTwin Peaks or Lord of the Rings, you’re going to love getting to know our mysterious town. With over 700 pages of story and counting, this campaign for the remastered Vol 1 Hardcover and an all-new Lillian story is the perfect time to join up.

Good news the last: I think I got this livestream thing figured out!

CLICK HERE to join me this Friday from 10-noon CST for my weekly livestream.

And if you’re can’t make it, you can always WATCH THE REPLAYS.

So much going on and so much yet to come!

Hope I you’re enjoying the dawn of Autumn as we ease into the spooky season.

More soon!

Till then, be good.

But not too good 😉

Announcing: Friday Live Draws!

So a while back I was semi-regularily doing live draws on Facebook.

I quit doing it for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to fluctuations in my schedule, just falling out of the habit, and also because Facebook’s algorithm’s kept tagging my videos for copyright violation because I had music going on in the background and that was really annoying.

But good news! I’m bringing it back!

Every Friday from 10 AM- Noon CST, I will be live streaming while I work on the latest page of the Canon of Vangel.

Come hang out, see how I do what I do, maybe grab a few tips for your own art-making, shoot the breeze, ask me anything, whatever! It’s all super casual.

All you gotta do is be a Patreon follower! You don’t even have to have a paid membership! Just be a free follower and you’ll get notified when I go live!

I’d love to see you there. There may even be snacks!*

*This is an online event. You will have to provide your own snacks.

On the bright side, there will also be no judgement about how many snacks you eat.

And if you can’t make it, you can find the recorded videos in the “Live Draw Livestreams” Collection.

Another extra bit of value you get for being a Patreon Pal!

Hope to see you Friday!

And if not, be good!

But not too good 😉
