"Vangelita?"

Vangel:
"Yeah!"

Mom:
"How was school?"

Panel 2:

Vangel:
"Ew... school was school."

Mom:
"Good. That’s what it’s supposed to be.
What was the most boring part?"

Vangel:
"Mr. Platt made us copy a whole page out of the textbook.
With our hands!"

Panel 3:

Mom:
"My God! What will he do next? Make you churn butter?"

Vangel:
"Hilarious.
Got another showing tonight?"

Panel 4:

Mom:
"Yup! There’s plenty of that ramen you like in the pantry and roast broccoli on the stove."

Mom:

(kissing Vangel on the cheek)
"You will eat the broccoli and not just the ramen."

Vangel:
"Ugh."

Panel 5:

Mom:

(Starts walking away)
"I know. I’m a monster.
I’ll see you when I get home."

Vangel:
"I have band practice."

Mom:
"Then I’ll see you when you get--"

Panel 6:

Mom (shocked):
"Gasp."

Vangel (confused):
"...?"

Panel 7:

(A muscular man with a “CRUSADERS” shirt stumbles in through the front door, injured and sweating.)
