Panel 2

Vabgel and Jason are in the kitchen with Owain and Lukas. Vangel and Jason are visibly frustrated while Lukas prepares food and Owain pores himself coffee.

Lukas: ’Fraid so.

Lukas: This is why you don’t accept anything from magical beings.

Lukas: Especially challenges.

Lukas: They are extremely binding.

Owain: And the knight was right.

Owain: It’s vital that Paladin maintain good relations in the magical world.

Vangel gestures angrily while Jason stands beside her, trying to explain the situation.

Vangel: This is bullshit!!

Vangel: He’s going to cut my head off!

Jason: You can’t be serious!

Jason: You guys are really just gonna let Vangel get de-headed?

Owain calmly drinks from his mug, offering a stark choice.

Owain: Oh no... You have a choice.

Owain: You can meet the knight, or go home and forget about being a Paladin.

Owain: Walk away and be normal.

Owain: Safe and uninvolved.

Vangel looks away, not liking her options, as Owain explains that there is still a way out of the magical bargain if she chooses an ordinary life.

Owain: If you’re a mundane civilian we can get you out of a magical bargain.

Owain: The mythic world will leave you alone to protect the veil. We’ll make sure of that.

Owain: But if you want to be a Paladin you have to keep your word.

Owain: Your call.
