ComicBooks For Kids

Here’s the transcript:

Once, when I was eight years old, I was home sick. My dad had to make a run to the grocery store and he brought me home a comic book. (They had comics in the grocery stores in those days) here I am 35 years later and not only am I making comics for a living. I also still have the book that he bought me. Spectacular Spider-Man number 167 with art by Sal Buscema. It’s not bagged and boarded because it’s particularly valuable or that the story was particularly good. It’s because this comic changed the course of my life.  I know firsthand how important a bit of escapism can be when you’re feeling scared and vulnerable.

That’s why, I’m thrilled to partner once again with  ComicBooks For Kids a 501(c) non profit, that focuses on getting comic books to kids in hospitals and cancer centers. For almost a decade, ComicBooks for kids has been supporting 200 Hospitals in all 50 states, getting comics to literally thousands of children in need.

With their blessing I’ve created a special add on for this Kickstarter. For  a specially discounted price you can get a copy of concrete Arcanum: living with monsters into the hands of a hospitalized child who could probably really use a distraction right about now.

When you back, just scroll down the add-ons until you find the comic books for kids icon and add it to your pledge.

If you’ve already backed, just click on your account icon, click on backed projects, click Concrete Arcanum, click “manage pledge”, reselect your pledge tier, scroll down until you find the comic books for kids add-on, adjust accordingly, then go to check out.

A kid will get a copy of Living With Monsters, free to them, and you’ll get a personalized thank you comic from myself and comic books for kids founder Mark Weiss.

Additionally, paying Patreon pals have a secret link for $10 off the book! It’s the perfect way to save a little money AND pay it forward.

Thanks in advance for selecting the comic books for kids add-on, and for making a difference in the life of a hospitalized child. It will mean the world to them, and it means the world to me.

My thanks to you for selecting this very important  add-on, and  for backing Concrete Arcanum: Living With Monsters.

As always, remember to be good.

But not too good 😉
