Panel 1
A ruined cityscape stretches beneath a red sky. Collapsed buildings, wrecked cars, and twisted streetlights litter the landscape. Vangel walks up a slope of rubble, leading the refugees and speaking into her communicator while Hrunting, a large armored warrior carrying a heavy rifle, walks beside her. Kai follows behind them.
Vangel: “Copy that.”
Vangel (continuing): “Far as I can tell we’re free and clear.”
Vangel (continuing): “Pickup in fifteen.”

Panel 2
Hrunting trudges forward, shoulders heavy with guilt. Vangel glances toward him with concern as Kai walks a few steps behind.

Panel 3
Vangel: “Hrunting…”
Vangel: “It wasn’t your fault.”
Hrunting: “I held the gun.”
Hrunting (continuing): “My finger on the trigger.”
Kai: “Go easy on yourself.”

Close view of Hrunting’s armored shoulder as Kai speaks earnestly from behind him.
Kai: “You weren’t in control.”
Kai (continuing): “That domination spell is no joke, believe me. There’s nothing you could have done.”
Kai (continuing): “Zorn’s gone.”
Kai (continuing): “He can never do that to you again.”

Close on Hrunting’s face beneath his helmet as he looks downward, burdened by the loss.
Hrunting: “Beln’s gone too.”
Hrunting (continuing): “No undoing that.”
